摘要
Within the framework of the internationalization process of higher education, a decisive promoter of the immersion and participation of institutions in the knowledge society, academic collaboration plays a fundamental role by implementing academic and administrative actions that contribute to the comprehensive training of globally competitive professionals. These actions have a direct impact on the educational teaching process, scientific research, university extension and postgraduate improvement, as well as on the staff, especially the academic one. The purpose of this work is to characterize the academic collaboration in the Higher Education Institutions (HEI) of Latin America, the Caribbean and Cuba through the analysis of initiatives to improve it, indicators and limiting factors. For the preparation of the work, documcents and reports from international organizations were analyzed, as well as articles published by recognized authors related to the subject.
