摘要
Considering environmental problems, electric power conservations and use of ICT would be initial promising solutions for reducing both operation costs and GHG (Green House Gas) emissions at the same time. And then, business sectors should invest the saved operation cost in new technologies to significantly mitigate GHG emissions. For the use of ICT, there would be many different ICT usages that could save both costs and GHG emissions. For examples, Telework, Web based banking, shopping, and administrative processes and paper-less methods such as e-mail, e-book, and e-ticket have been already widely utilized. For implementing the use of ICT, it is important to have a standardized way to quantitatively evaluate those good effects generated by ICT usages. Furthermore, energy, information and communication infrastructures should be redesigned and reconstructed. New infrastructures will complement existing infrastructures, and should gradually replace them. Standard will also play a key role for the evolution of infrastructure that would last for a long time.
