摘要
We present the main scientific objectives and the description of a new spectrograph-polarimeter, POLIS (POlarimetric LIttrow Spectrograph). This instrument which will be installed at the German Vacuum Tower Telescope on Tenerife in 2001. It will perform simultaneous measurements of the magnetic field vector in the photosphere and the chromosphere of the sun, using a pair of neutral iron lines at 630.15 nm and 630.25 nm, together with the ionized Ca line at 396.6 nm.
