摘要
This paper considers a single-unit system operating under two weather conditions : normal and abnormal. Two reliability models are developed in which unit may fail completely either directly from normal mode or via partial failure. The unit is inspected to examine the feasibility of its repair at complete and partial failure in models 1 and 2 respectively. If repair of the unit is not feasible, it is replaced by new one. However, repair of the unit at its partial and complete failure is done without inspection in models 1 and 2 respectively. The operation, inspection and repair Of the unit are stopped in abnormal weather, The distributions of failure time and change of weather conditions follow negative exponential while that of inspection and repair times are taken as arbitrary with different probability density function (pdf). All random variables are mutually independent and uncorrelated. Expressions for reliability and economic measures of system effectiveness are derived by using semi-Markov process and regenerative point technique. Numerical results are also obtained for a particular case.
