Some historic data on oilfield development optimization and development of oil industry of Tatarstan

Historic development of the scientific ideas, methods and practice of oilfield development optimization and Tatarstan oil industry development in the second half of the XX century are shown. A review is done of the main optimization problems occurred during development of the largest in the country Romashkinskoye field using new technology-maintaining formation pressure through boundary water-flooding of formations. It was shown, how difficult were the conditions in which the struggle of scientific ideas, struggle for scientific and technological progress went, and how important was the role of economic science in this struggle.
