摘要
A procedure is developed to establish the ground-state multiplicities for atoms with any number of electrons. The procedure is applied to two- and three-electron systems. The results are that all neutral and positive two- and three-electron atoms have singlet (S = 0) and doublet (S = 1/2) ground states, respectively.
