摘要
Contemporary distribution systems can be seen with remote operated line switches and optimally placed distributed generations (DGs) and shunt capacitors (SCs). Though these components can effectively reduce power losses and also improve node voltage profiles, however, in actual practice their impact is different under varying system states. A detailed investigation is presented in the paper to show the impact of distributed resources (DRs) power control and network reconfiguration (NR) for different system states of distribution systems. More realistic problem formulation is presented by considering load diversity among distribution buses. Recently developed variant of cat swarm optimization is employed as an optimization tool. Detailed investigations carried on a standard test bench shows the relevance of present study for distribution network operators.
