摘要：
This paper builds evaluation index system of urban competitiveness through 20 major appropriate economic indicators, and carries on the quantitative analysis of economic development of seventeen cities in Shandong province based on the principal component analysis and SPSS13.0. It appraises the economic development level of every urban area of Shandong province according to the comprehensive scores and positions of every area. Meanwhile, it also discusses the unevenness of socioeconomic development, which provides a reference for promoting the further development of urbanization.
