Preparation of magnetic iron oxide powders from spent iron catalyst of ammonia synthesis

摘要
The possibility was demonstrated of preparing the powder of magnetic iron oxide pigment Y-Fe2O3 from the industrial by-product, namely, spent iron catalyst of the ammonia synthesis. The effect of the conditions of the synthesis of the intermediate product alpha-FeOOH (goethite) on the magnetic properties of the powders was studied.
