A new bit error rate monitoring method based on histograms and curve fitting

摘要
A new method for estimating the bit-error-rate of optical channels suffering from crosstalk and waveform distortion is proposed in the paper. Based on the signal's amplitude histograms and curve fitting, the method can provide a good BER estimation with an error range within one order of magnitude.
