Extending MASCOT to a component-based software performance engineering methodology

摘要
The usual approach to most large software design methodologies is to carry out a modular decomposition of the system, which divides the future system into components. However, performance would be normally considered afterwards, even it is an important aspect of any model component-based development. MASCOT provides a systematic component-based design method for real-time systems that does not also provide performance facilities. This paper presents the case study of the performance modelling of the Track Management Sub-System (TMS), provided by MBDA for the SUCSEDE project. This design example illustrates the efforts addressed to extend MASCOT to a component-based software performance engineering methodology based on interaction protocols.
