Multinational operations of the current decade have remarked the complexity of the combat operations as well as the outstanding challenges in so far as the deployment and the sustainment of forces are concerned Therefore, the logistic support has developed its action typology in favor of the multinational solutions, revealed in various shapes, concurrently with the renouncement at some of the pure national efforts, very often impossible to be made in all the spectrum of the logistic activities. The amplitude of the multinational logistic actions depends on the conflict intensity and the operation typology. As a consequence, in the coalition operations, the multinational logistic support is increasing during the lower intensity stage, while in the alliance operations, due to the multinational mechanisms in place, it appears since at the commencement. This operational adaptation has determined important structural innovations and alterations in logistics, by the new range of multinational logistic units or formations. They are set up on the spot, for a certain duration or operation, or planned in the peace time, as part of a multi annual planning process. Their dimensions are different, and the missions include all spectrums of the logistic activities, from the specialized role to the general logistic support.
