摘要
Romania's integration to the E.U set Romanian firms before a new challenge: to increase competitiveness in order to face the competition of European companies. The objective is not easily achievable because the E.U firms enjoy a rich experience in terms of competition, efficiency in operations and attracting customers. Understanding the sources of competitiveness of these firms and their development so for represents, for Romanian companies, a base that can be used to address this objective. The existing differences between firms from different sectors of activity are very important. The benefits that some sectors offer on the level of competitiveness achieved, existing competition, trends of future development and the opportunity to obtain higher revenue and profits may allow the identification of favorable niches that con be used by Romanian firms. In the present study a statistical analysis is carried out, at the level of activity sectors, of competitiveness of companies in specific EU countries, to highlight those aspects that have conditioned European firms to move up to current performance.
