The performance analysis of the genetic algorithm for the optimum design of diffractive optical elements and its comparison to the simulated annealing

摘要
In this paper we successfully apply the genetic algorithm for the optimal design of diffractive optical elements. The guideline for performing the GA is provided in this paper. The comparison of GA and SA is also given. The results show that the GA can not only be applied to the optimal design of diffractive optical elements with binary and multi-level phase modulation on a large scale, and also is suited for application to an opto-electronic hybrid system.
