The Analysis of the Management of Foreign Students in Fujian under the Background of the Belt and Road Strategy

Along with the improvement of the comprehensive strength and world influence of China, more and more foreign students put China on the top list of places to study abroad. According to the latest data updated by the Chinese Ministry of Education, the number of students studying in China exceeded 440,000 and the total number of countries and regions of origin was 205 in 2016, which both were the new record, while China being the biggest destination for studying abroad with the progress of educational attraction and national comprehensive strength of China. Because of the Belt and Road Strategy, the number of foreign students come from countries along the Belt and Road line has increased obviously, especially from these countries like Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Thailand, India and Indonesia. Fujian Province, as the starting area of the Belt and Road Strategy as well as the core construction area of the Maritime Silk Road, it attracts more and more foreign students from the countries along the Belt and Road line to study here with its developed economy, superior geographical location and historical tradition of overseas Chinese. Therefore, it becomes practical and significant to figure out the effective ways of managing these special groups in colleges and universities considering of the apparent differences between our mainland students and foreign students from countries and regions along the Belt and Road line on diet, religion, habits and so forth.
