摘要
Reciprocal (direct + inverse) electromagnetic-acoustic transduction in ferrites of the spinel class is investigated experimentally and compared with the case of electrically conducting magnets. It is shown that surface forces play a decisive role in ferrites. In the temperature range from T-room to the Curie point T-c the generation of both longitudinal and transverse ultrasound is instigated exclusively by anisotropic magnetostriction. A qualitative interpretation is given for the temperature dependences of the electromagnetic-acoustic transduction parameters in ferrites.
