Zn was introduced to La1-xSrxScO3-delta as a B-site dopant. The addition of Zn markedly improved the sinterability of the material, and a dense sinter could be synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. Although conductivity was slightly decreased by the addition of Zn, it was shown that La1-xSrxSc1-yZnyO3-delta is a useful electrolyte material for intermediate-temperature fuel cells.
