Vehicle Dynamic Simulation for Energy Efficiency Optimization of Four-wheel Independent Driven Electric Vehicle

摘要
In order to optimize the energy efficiency, the vehicle model of a four-wheel independently driven electric vehicle was built, which included the vehicle dynamics model, wheel motor model and PNGV model of LiFePO4 power battery. In order to extend the driving range, a new control algorithm was developed to distribute the torque requirement dynamically to four wheel motors. In order to achieve a higher overall energy efficiency, motors should work in the high efficiency range as much as possible. The vehicle switches between 2-wheel drive mode and 4-wheel drive mode according to the driving condition using the new control algorithm. Simulations of the new control algorithm in Matlab/Simulink were carried out on an urban drive cycle. The result showed that much improvement in driving range was achieved with the new control algorithm. Copyright Form of EVS25.
