摘要：
The process of one carbon homologation of 5,6-dimethoxy-indan-1-ol afforded an unexpected product that by comparison with one present in the literature was assigned as 3-(2',3'-dihydro-5',6'-dimethoxy-1'H-inden-1'-yl)-5,6-dimethoxy-1H-indene 1. Now we show by synthesis that the structure 1 was wrong and the correct one corresponds to 2-(2',3'-dihydro-5',6'-dimethoxy-1'H-inden-1'-yl)-5,6-dimethoxy-1H-indene 4.
