Forced vacuum arc interruption using an oscillatory transverse magnetic field and parallel capacitance

摘要
The paper presents results of experimental work concerning a forced interruption of the vacuum arc current in the range from 100 A to 600 A, using an oscillatory transverse magnetic field and a capacitance connected parallel to the switching contacts. The aim of the measurements was to determine the boundary values of this capacitance at a given range of magnetic flux density parameters: increasing rate from 530 T/s to 1480 T/s and frequency from 510 Hz to 1350 Hz. Furthermore, a simplified mathematical model of observed phenomena is presented in the paper.
