摘要
The injection molding process for producing a microcellular cross-linked EVA has several advantages over the conventional compression molding process: reduced cycle lime, labor and scrap. The presence of skin adds aesthetic value and ability to engrave logos in one step. However, the injection molding process has not been widely accepted particularly in such applications as shoe soles, where precise size control is of utmost importance. This was due to lack of precision compounds as well as high duality injection molding machines. Recent progress in injection molding and compounding technology has made it possible to replace tile compression molding process in producing foams for the mast demanding applications. This payer overviews the injection molding process, molding compounds, and resulting foam properties.
