摘要
This study was aimed to compare the effects of intravenous administration of propofol, ketamine and ketofol on intraocular pressure after intravenous premedication with xylazine (0.6 mg/kg) in rabbits. Eight healthy New Zealand white rabbits were randomly received each one of three anaesthetic regimen seperately at 1-week intervals. The intraocular pressure was measured at baseline, 15 minutes after xylazine administration, and at 2, 5, 10, 20 and 25 minutes following induction. The mean of the left and right intraocular pressure was assumed as the animal's intraocular pressure. There were no significant differences between groups at all time intervals except for 20 minutes following induction. The mean intraocular pressures at 20 minutes in propofol, ketamine and ketofol groups were 7.31 +/- 1.88, 8.68 +/- 1.41 and 8.31 +/- 0.79 mm Hg, respectively. Intravenous ketamine (2 mg/kg) and propofol (2 mg/kg) combination in New Zealand white rabbits is reduced the intraocular pressure compared to propofol and ketamine, alone. Ketofol may be an agent of choice for opthalmic procedures.
