Atomically dispersed gold-supported catalysts: preparation and potential for low-temperature CO oxidation

摘要
The development of carbon monoxide (CO) oxidation catalysts with excellent activity and high stability is of great significance for both theoretical research and practical application. Supported Au nanocatalysts have been displayed to have extremely high catalytic activity for CO oxidation reactions. However, Au has limited reserves resulting in high cost. It is necessary to increase the utilization efficiency of Au while obtain high activity. In addition, the stability of Au is poor because Au tends to migrate and aggregate to the larger particles, which have low catalytic activity, during long-term use, especially when used in elevated temperature. The key issues concern how to stabilize the Au particles. Moreover, the reaction mechanism of CO oxidation on these catalysts is not clear. In this mini-review, we discussed atomic-dispersed Au-supported catalysts and their high activity and stability by the strong interaction between Au and supports in recent years, and their catalytic mechanisms were further elucidated.
