What the new EU REACH regulation means for your business

The REACH (Registration Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation was implemented throughout the European Union on 1 June 2007, valid until 2018. The regulation will affect certain hazardous chemicals within products, as well as new materials development Process Oriented R&D (PPORD). The Midlands Aerospace Alliance together with major aerospace product manufacturers recognize the impact this regulation will have on all companies. It held a workshop on 3rd March, 2009, to help companies to work through the legislation. The conference included topics on how to get materials authorization and restriction, the authorization candidate list, tools from the surface finishing sector to help with REACH, and strategy for compilation of list for essential substances.
