摘要：
The paper deals with the importance of sketching (freehand drawing) skill for designers i.e. students and engineers in mechanical engineering generally. Recommendations for mastering the sketching technique fundamentals are given, in regard to the drawing of most frequent shapes in machine constructions drawings. Skillful sketching is important as a mode of expression in engineering, but also an important tool for information transfer.
