摘要
We demonstrate a technique of generating dual-wavelength picosecond pulses with a self-seeded Fabry-Perot laser diode, where the two lasing wavelengths are selected from the same mode of the laser diode by the spectrally separated orthogonally polarized reflection peaks of a polarization-maintaining fiber Bragg grating. Using this technique, we generated stable dual-wavelength pulses that had a pulsewidth of 59.0-63.3 ps, a wavelength separation of 0.53 nm, and a pulse rate of about 2 GHz. We were also able to achieve simultaneous lasing at the two wavelengths with equal pulse intensities and effective switching between the two wavelengths by simply adjusting the polarization controller placed in the laser cavity.
