Research on the action mechanism of train braking force and the worst influence on railway bridges

摘要
Train braking force is passed onto the substructure piers and abutments via railway bridges. Its transfer mechanism and the degree of numerical value play significant roles in the design of piers and abutments. The paper introduces the research situations of train braking force home and abroad, and puts emphasis on the research conducted by our team and the achievements obtained. Numerous calculations and analyses are carried out for simple supported railway bridges with different spans and different lengths under the action of braking force by means of dynamic structure analysis method. Calculation results are compared with test results. The mechanism of train braking force transferred from railway bridges to piers and abutments is studied to provide a theoretical basis for determining the design values of braking force for bridge piers and abutments. It is proposed that the value for train braking force ratio be 0.2 and the value for effective braking force ratio be 0.15. These values are proved to be safer, more reliable and reasonable.
