摘要
The height of 101-story Shanghai World Financial Center Tower is 492m above ground. Chinese Code specified three levels as frequent, basic and rare earthquake levels, respectively. The tower is located in Shanghai where seismic design intensity is categorized as 7. Chinese Code specified three levels as frequent, basic and rare earthquake levels, respectively. According to the philosophy of performance-based seismic design, the seismic performance design objectives and corresponding parameters were proposed for the structure under various seismic actions from frequent to rare earthquake levels. Analytical studies including refined finite element analysis and nonlinear time history analysis have been conducted so as to evaluate the structural seismic performance. Along with the analytical studies, a 1/50 scaled model was made and tested on shaking table in order to verify the accuracies of the analytical results as well as to complement the analytical studies. Corresponding to different earthquake actions, the natural frequencies and dynamic responses have been obtained and presented in the paper. Conclusion can be drawn that the structural system meets the performance-based design objectives presented in the paper.
