摘要
This study investigated the result of welding process on pre-strained SS400 steel plate. SS400 was welded using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) in pre-strained conditions of 0%, 1%, 3%, and 5%. The process indicated an increasing strength of welded joint in line with increase of pre-strain, and accompanied by the increase in the hardness value of welded joint. The increase is caused by dislocation density, which transforms twin boundaries and changes the mechanical properties.
