摘要
When simulating the behaviour of a rolling tyre, modelling the rubber friction between tyre tread and road surface is crucial. Friction tests were done with different loads and velocities. From the analysis of the experimental results a phenomenological friction law for the friction coefficient is proposed. Finite Element computations of the experiments show the validity of this model. A main application of this friction model are simulations of the rolling tyre to predict weal and tire characteristics. Thus an understanding of mechanical processes in the contact patch enables the tyre engineer to optimise tyre design with the aid of simulation.
