摘要
Five-axis machining, in co-operation with Delcam's PowerMill software, adds a simulation and verification module to detect collisions. Five-axis machining can offer manufacturers many advantages that include reduction in setup times and costs per part, accurate machining, as well as improvement in part quality. Automotive manufacturers and die/mold applications also can realize substantial payoffs from five-axis machining, especially as costs for the latest five-axis gear have declined. Aerospace demands five-axis for highly contoured aircraft components, and the fifth axis is applied as a tilting spindle on a large aerospace machine that will provide full five-axis contouring capability.
