摘要
A low crown caisson seawall with a large-size wave overtopping drainage is effective to decrease overtopping discharge and attenuate a reflected wave effectively. The main characteristics of wave overtopping process in this kind of seawall are as follows: collision of overtopping water with a wall of drainage, and the resultant return flow colliding with armor blocks in front of a caisson. This return flow can cause a damage of armor blocks. In this study, hydraulic experiments and numerical analyses by the particle method are executed to understand the basic characteristics of wave overtopping process in this kind of seawall. Moreover, a simple way of estimation of damage of armor blocks based on the calculation result is proposed.
