摘要
The ARGOS system resulting from a fruitful co-operation between NOAA and CNES offers a data collection and platform location service on a world wide coverage dedicated to environment monitoring and applications of scientific nature. The exploitation of the ARGOS system has steadily increased over the last ten years. This growth should extend over the future to contribute to the implementation of large international Programs dedicated to Ocean research and meteorology. Nonetheless, the evolution of users needs and the introduction of new technologies make it necessary to update the system and to improve services offered. This communication presents the improvements gained by the new generation of ARGOS instruments and describes the evolution planned at mean and long term.
