摘要
Altar icons Virgin with Christ and Christ on the Throne from the Church of St. Nicholas in Baosici were painted by Aleksije Lazovic, a famous painter from Bijelo Polje. They are the only remains of the iconostasis he painted for the church in 1806. Although presented facts are already known from the literature.. Aleksije's works in this church have never been published or analyzed. Since the icons are in a very good condition, they provide an important link in completing the picture about the work of Aleksije Lazovic in the Coastal Area. His works also include several icons in Savina Monastery (1795-1797; 1831); iconostases in the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus in Podi (1804), Cincture of the Theotokos and Nativity of the Virgin churches in Bijela (the third and fourth decade of the XIX century), Rezevici Monastery (1833), and others. Although they do not differ considerably from his works on the same topic in numerous other churches, their undisputed importance should be observed within the frame of the baroque artistic model, which Aleksije Lazovic, together with his father Simeon, transferred to Orthodox church painting of the Coastal Area. Baroque art, already rapidly surpassed by the appearing classicism north of the Sava and the Danube rivers, had its bloom in the Coastal Area with the works of Aleksije Lazovic in the first decades of the XIX century.
