摘要
Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging technology where physical entities are integrated with internet, sensors and communicating technology in order to enrich our lives and make it simple. IoT is employed in home automation, monitoring environmental parameters, industries, vehicles, medical sector, etc. In this paper, we consider the application of IoT in air pollution monitoring system. Increase in pollution levels in the environment adversely affects all forms of life in it. Hence it is extremely important to monitor and control the pollution level. This paper proposes a model to deploy the IoT devices to measure the pollution level in a given region. The region is partitioned into grids and each grid is assigned a priority. Since the devices are expensive and are to be used minimally, such an approach would make the best use of these devices. Simulations are carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
