摘要
this paper mainly focuses on the Mandible surgery application of the rapid prototyping technology and the medical CT technology. The success of the reconstructive Mandible surgery depends on good preoperative evaluation of the deformity, preparation of precise-fitting implants, and accurate execution of the operation. This paper further discusses the relation of the common way of CT image data processing, and also an improving method of constructing the rapid prototyping data of jaw bones based on CT image has been proposed. A 3D model of the mandible defect is generated after the CT data processing. An individual tray is designed using mimics software and fabricated by rapid prototyping (RP) technology. The method proposed in this paper can improve both the reconstruction rate and the geometric similarity.
