摘要
Joining of divergent materials introduces various troubles and is a challenging assignment due to variety in thermal and physical properties. Because of high temperature era the vast majority of the fusion welding strategies are not reasonable for joining different amalgams i.e. Al 6061 graded aluminum and AISI 316 graded steel plates. Friction stir spot welding is a novel solid state process that has as of late gotten impressive consideration from different industries including automotive divisions for welding divergent materials. The present investigation is aimed at analyzing the impact of the rotational speed, tool plunge rate and dwell time on mechanical behavior of Friction Stir Spot Welding (FSSW) joints produced on dissimilar sheets. Mechanical characterization of joints was carried out by method for single lap shear test. Optimization was performed by changing the applicable process parameters among three levels. L18 based Design of Experiment was utilized to perform the experiments for investigating the association of the process parameters. Ideal process parameters were resolved for most extreme lap shear tensile strength utilizing Grey based Taguchi approach. On the premise of the accomplished outcomes, validation for enhancing the mechanical performances of joints was established. Correlation of ideal values give an unmistakable observation as grey based method is more effectual approach, thus can be utilized to optimize other engineering issues in order to fulfill engineering requests.
