摘要
We previously proposed M-ary pulse amplitude modulation based on inverse source coding which maximizes the transmission rate in visible light communications with dimming capability. This paper deals with M-ary pulse position modulation (M-PPM), where bit error rate and throughput are measures for comparison. The results show that the best modulation index M depends on dimming target and channel quality. Accordingly, adaptive modulation follows also depending on the two parameters.
