摘要
This article presents the result of the analysis made in documents that address the Reform of High School promoted during the government of President Michel Temer, explaining how this reform is related to Decree 2.208/97 and the challenge of school leadership in the face of this setback for Brazilian education. The data were obtained from documentary research, bibliographic review in books, articles, website of the Ministry of Education and legislation related to the theme under study, as well as elements present in critical theories that emphasize the function of the school as an ideological apparatus of domination and the possible destiny of Professional and Technological Education. It was concluded that the current conjuncture of Brazilian education is at the service of the ruling class, which for many years held (and still holds) scientific knowledge and that this reform of middle education constitutes a form of maintenance and expansion of inequality in the supply of high school and professional education, endangering the future of Integrated High School and the integral education of subjects belonging to the popular class. It reflects on the possibilities of effective school leadership as a way of coping with these dilemmas, acting as a transforming agent.
