摘要：

This work aims to investigate the relationship between the concept of health promotion for the elderly and the educational practices carded out at the University of Maturity. This research was developed from theoretical references such as Morelia et al. (2016); Osorio (2006); Sucupira e Mendes (2003) and with the intention of deepening, it is proposed, in this article, to work a descriptive and field research, aiming to understand the impacts of gerontology education as a tool to promote the quality of life, using a qualitative approach. The results pointed to a behavioral and perspective change on the part of the elderly person,thus generating more autonomy.
