Room temperature ionic liquid as 'green' solvents to extract organic compounds from waste waters in antibiotic production

摘要
The synthesis of room temperature ionic liquids 1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium bromide and 1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate is here reported under microwave irradiation, in an open vessel using a modified household MW oven. The reaction time was drastically reduced to about one hour as compared to conventional methods, and good yields were obtained. The potential of ionic liquids for extraction of butanol and butyl acetate from aqueous solutions is investigated.
