摘要
This paper proposed the nonlinear optical loop mirror multi-wavelength Brillouin fiber laser utilizing semiconductor optical amplifier in comparison with DCF and SMF. The simulation comprises nonlinear optical loop mirror with a 3-dB coupler for measurement of the output signals using two types of gain medium which is dispersion compensation fiber compared to the use of a standard single mode fiber. At 6 km of dispersion compensating fiber, with maximum semiconductor optical amplifier injection current of 0.7A have the ability to produce 9 signals. Compare to single mode fiber at 6km length, with maximum semiconductor optical amplifier injection current of 0.8A can generated 11 signals. The performance of multi-wavelength signals generation is achievable by using a fiber loop laser system by utilizing a semiconductor optical amplifier with dispersion compensating fiber and single mode fiber as a gain media in the loop mirror multi-wavelength Brillouin fiber laser. However, each of gain media having its own limitation based on the parameters used and during design simulation.
