摘要
An electrokinetic flow enhanced tests was designed in order to Improve flow rate in conventional electrokinetic tests. Iri this test, a base was automatically injected at the anode compartment to neutralize acid in order to promote or enhance outflow volumes. Another feature of this experiment Is the neutralization of base formed at the cathode to Impair the reaction of base with TNT which cause the transformation of TNT to TNT anions. Electrolytes used at the anode compartments includes water and surfactant solutions. Results showed that the experimental design of the new electrokinetic setup successfully achieved;both goals. However, no transport of TNT away from the electrodes was observed In the tests. Pulse type loading electrokinetic tests was also implemented in an attempt to aid its desorption from the soil by increasing the contact time between the solvent and TNT. Tests with methanol as an anode solvent showed evidence of transport of TNT away from the anode.
