The Chemicals Regulation REACH

The European Chemicals regulation REACH currently causes remarkable changes in the chemical industry. The goal of REACH is to guarantee a high level of protection for human society and the environment. Therefore, producers of chemicals which are produced or traded within the EU have to register the chemicals with the European Chemicals Agency. For this purpose, they have to provide extensive data in terms of environmental compatibility. Additionally, all these data have to be handed in for substances that have been put on the market before 1981. The last deadline for the registration of these existing substances wasis in May 2018. Substances that have been graded as dangerous can be limited in their usage or prohibited.
