摘要
This paper presents an unprecedented survey of Brazilian firms mapping their eco-innovative patterns. This paper draws special attention to the group of firms that have achieved the stage of "eco-advantage", in order to find out what drives radical innovation and what are the main characteristics of this group. The results show that the main innovation determinant influencing radical outcomes regards market-driven factors, specially the purpose of creating new market segments. Moreover, this result corroborates with theoretical observations suggesting that spurring green innovation can be seized as opportunities, instead of mere constraints to economic activity. These opportunities are both to fulfill the existing demands of consumers for environmentally friendly products (and services), as well as to emulate preferences while creating new market segments.
