摘要
The Amalgamated Sugar raw juice chromatographic separation process has been demonstrated in extensive pilot testing to be a promising alternative to conventional liming and carbonation purification. The process is superior with respect to purification, extraction, chemical use, pollution concerns, beet end equipment requirements, sugar end material handling requirements and processing consistency. The process involves softening diffusion juice and passing a subsequent softened raw syrup through a chromatographic separator. Products include crystallised sucrose, a non-sucrose by-product and a small amount of molasses.
