Statistics lessons with PDA in a Bluetooth network

摘要
In statistics lessons, students calculate mean, standard deviation, covariance, and so on. Computers are very useful to students. But they are very expensive, so not every student can buy them. PDA is much cheaper and has sufficient functions. We use PDAs in our statistic lessons. This PDA can treat Microsoft Excel files and Microsoft Word files. Furthermore, by Bluetooth network, we can transfer data files between teacher's notebook computer and students' PDA's. In lesson, teacher send data file to students by Bluetooth network., They study, calculate, and make a report. They send their report file (Word file) to teacher by the network. If a student has a question, he/she call teacher's computer at any time and send message to it by the Bluetooth network. Teacher will reply it by the network. In this paper we report such networked statistics lessons.
