摘要
This paper aims to discuss the production of urban space focusing on Open Space System as object of analisys. Given the increasing evaluation of green areas and protected areas in the urban environment, the Open Space System have become anchors for the expansion and the materialization of capital real estate, considering the increasing value of environmental services. In order to do so, it was adopted as a study area the great basin of the Baixada de Jacarepagua, Rio de Janeiro/RJ, analyzing it from the theoretical-methodological scope of Landscapes Ecology. The forms of differentiated appropriation between social groups of distinct income classes resulted in the production of social and environmental conflicts highlighted in the access to the benefits provided by the green areas and protected areas. Urban planning, by prioritizing the infrastructure of some areas over others, creates mechanisms of selectivity and accessibility, reserving the benefits of SEL to those who can pay for the use of valued land.
