A decision-making model for the selection of transportation supplier

This paper presents an evaluation index system and approach based on the practical situation of transportation supplier selection. Taking into consideration the fact that accurate evaluation information is usually difficult to obtain, it introduced a fuzzy evaluation method which involves the following concepts: evaluation criterion, criterion weight and interval number, deviation degree etc. Then, based on the conception of deviation degree, a fuzzy decision-making model for carrier selection is presented. Finally, an example which is made as close to the practical situation of transportation supplier selection as possible is given to test and prove the effectiveness and practicality of this model.
