A new measurement technique to determine the Amplitude and Phase shift of a sinusoidal voltage signal using a charge balanced digitizer

摘要
In this paper, a digitizer that uses a new measurement technique to determine the unknown parameters of a sinusoidal voltage signal is proposed. The technique is based on the charge balance principle. The amplitude and phase shift of the unknown sinusoidal signal are calculated based on the number of transitions that occur due to continuous charging and discharging of a capacitor. A laboratory prototype is designed and tested for different amplitudes and angles of all the quadrants. Results indicate an accuracy of 50 mV in amplitude and 0.50 in phase with a 11-bit resolution.
